The band, which originally started as a commissioned project for the Vossajazz festival, has grown to become Flaten’s main creative vehicle, with each album revealing new sides of his musical universe.

Now with a stable lineup – Karl Hjalmar Nyberg (tenor saxophone, electronics), Amalie Dahl (alto saxophone), Marta Warelis (piano), Jonathan F. Horn (guitar), Olaf Olsen (drums), and Flaten himself on bass – (Exit) Knarr emerges as a band driven by a shared energy and playfulness. After extensive touring and three albums together, it’s clear that the sheer joy of making music is the group’s foundation.
